The Day The Earth Stood Still

Keanu Reeves plays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival to planet earth is to destroy the human race for in order to save earth. The message is clear and simple, if the earth dies, you die. If the human race dies, the earth survives.

Klaatu starts off as an alien in a human body. As he spends time in the body and interacts with Dr. Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly) and her stepson (Jaden Smith), he starts to be affected by what he learn from the human character.

This is where the movie fails. Although there’s some suspense and some action in the movie, but the part where Klaatu’s experiences with the human and how he perceives the human character is not strong enough. Other than that; the robot, Gort, is cool.

Watch it if you have nothing else to do, but I think you would be better off with either CicakMan 2 or Los and Faun :)

p/s I really have nothing to do on Thursday night :) … so, I contacted the founder of InfoMalaya to watch this and then lepak at the nearest mamak shop outside Sunway Carnival after the movie.

    Bro, aku tengok pun masa kursus last week. Supposed to watch CicakMan 2 too, but i was too tired on Friday night.

    i didn’t know that when klatuu touch the sphere, it releases super massive EMP shockwave killing not only those bugs, but all human technologies until i read the review about it.

    i actually expected more from the movie.

    Indeed, the robot was soooo cool! Hehe..

    Since I don’t know about this film until I watched it with you, so I didn’t expect anything from it.

    This is a remake and the robot is cool. especially the part it changes to the ulat-ulat kecik tu .

    dulu … when he was small, he really wanted to grow up as ultraman, that’s why he appended another ‘a’ to his name … ;)

    My course is very strict. It starts at 7.45 am and end at 6.30 pm with attendance and time is taken 3 times a day. It is my induction course as a new government servant and we have to pass this course in order to get confirmed. No time to mess around bro. Oh yea…+ we have to do assignments…huwaaa….

    that is the ending. the EMP released killed all human technologies, hence all are stopped or stand still, the cars, airplane, lamp, everything, including the clock. – kot -

    Matrix Trilogy is one of his best, but as i said, they should build his character more in this film.
