Rohaizad from Rohaizad.com said in his blog today that, Page Rank (PR) is like a blog’s EGO. I do find there are some truth to it, especially if
1. You sell links from your blog and your PR determines the rate.
2. You do reviews on your blog and your PR determines the rate.
3. You want to have an authority blog on a certain niche. PR is not necessarily a factor, but a high PR does give you bragging rights

That’s why I said my ego got busted. Although azwan.my has an increase in Page Rank, now it is PR 3, but I got two other blogs which are making money from link selling, drop a point each .. hu .. hu.

I think the last PR update was more than 6 months ago, and some of you might have thought that Google has given up on Page Rank. Well, Google did not and it is still updating, but from the looks of it, the frequency will not be as often as it used to.

How was your PR update, did you see any differences?

Since I do touch on categories such as blogging tips, traffic and also page rank, at least I can show you that whatever tips that I gave you – works.

If it works for me, on a non niche blog, it will work on you too.

Didn’t expect this to be so soon after the algorithm changed. Got PR2 in less than 2 months. Since I got it fast, I could loose it the same way too.

Traffic Stastistic

Traffic has started to increase. Looks like when I decided to concentrate on onpage optimization first, has started to pay off. Can’t wait to see more traffic when the offpage optimization process starts. I have started with a social bookmarking site, more about this later ok

Other rankings? How about Technorati?

Although I have a Technorati account, I haven’t been paying much attention to it. Technorati calculates Technorati Authority and also Technorati Rank. Technorati Authority is the number of blogs linking to a website in the last six months. The higher the number, the more Technorati Authority the blog has. Technorati Rank shows you how far are you from being number one. More on how to use Technorati for your blog later. Currently my authority is very low :

PR, Alexa and Traffic might not be so important for some people. Some IMs also do not care for PR nor Alexa. Their main concern is targeted traffic and most have a list of emails to market their products. Only minisites are required and a list of emails to direct the traffic to. I am beginning to explore that area too myself , but for those who are making money online through advertising, links selling, adsense etc .. etc .. these 3 (and a few others) are important.

Looks like Google is updating its page rank quite often lately. There was once in September 08 where one of my blog fell to PR2 from PR3. Then, during my trip to Port Dickson, my other blog page rank increased from PR0 to PR2 (although it was originally PR4).

This would be a good chance for me to sell links from that site, but if I do that, Google would sure slap me with PR0 again, like it did previously … ha … ha … Selling links will cause you your page rank. If PR is very important to you, forget about it, because once you loose your PR, it will be difficult to get it back. When you sell, you will loose it but without it, you can’t sell. Think about it.

Sitelinks are additional links Google sometimes generates from site contents in order to help users navigate your site. Google generates these sitelinks periodically from your site’s contents.

How Does It Work?

From what I can see from my own sitelinks, it looks like some of the ones listed are the ones that get the most searches from Google.

The Perodua Viva and Z520i post do get a lot of searches by a number of keywords, short and long.

It’s automated and I don’t think anyone really understand how Google algorithms work yet. I am sure that when someone is able to find a way to understand and game Google algorithms, Google will change it like what it did to Page Rank’s algorithms and the people who sell text link.

How do you know that Google has already created Sitelinks for your site?

Just login to Google Webmaster Tools, go to links and then sitelinks.

Yes, I must be crazy to move here when the old Azwan Hadzree is already established. But I am already here. Now it’s time to build this site and make it better.

The first thing to do is to build the traffic. I am giving myself 3 months from now for this site to be as the same level as the old site in terms of traffic. At the same time, I’ll try to increase the blog Alexa Ranking and also Google Page Rank.

azwan dot my started with a traffic rank of 29M. After 4 days of blogging, it is now 15,693,449. Traffic, as above, is 100% from Malaysia while the previous blog is only 30% from Malaysia. The target is to get an Alexa Ranking of below 1M in a month and at the level of 500K ++ by the second month, and also to diversify the traffic source.

As for Google Page Rank, that will be the last thing on my mind. For the time being traffic is more important than PR.
