First Affiliate Income of 2010

Looks like 2010 is going to be a good year :) For a start, I reached the minimum payout for NetKL Web Hosting’s affiliate program.

Withdrew the money and used it to pay for a new domain. The balance is currently parked in my NetKL account and will use it to renew the my hosting package and domain which are due in Feb 2010.

I referred 790 visitors to the web hosting company and 7 decided to sign up. I am not sure how they got the coversion rate of 0.01%, but if my maths is correct it should be 7/790 X 100 = 0.89%. A mere 1% = RM50 and I am only using this personal blog to promote my web hosting affiliate.

No list.

What if I have 10,000 subsribers in my list of eager newbies that is ready to start a blog :) That’s RM600 in one blast if only 1% sign up for the cheapest hosting package.

I am making money from sponsored reviews, text links ads, Adsense, affiliates etc through blogging and I think it’s time to have my own list. The money is in the list, they say. Why not?

For your info, one of my 2010′s New Year resolutions is to build my own list. Nothing related to how to make money online. Those are covered by this blog, but something different from what the other IMs in Malaysia are doing now.

Stay tuned. Happy Blogging and Happy New Year!

In 2009, I withdrew my commission from Fivio, another hosting company from Malaysia. This month from NetKL. More coming in 2010.
