I just changed my WordPress theme after 4 years. If you are a blogger and regularly follows my blog, you may get the urge to change too after seeing mine But you just made your change. Should you follow? Hah! It may not be a good idea.

How frequently should you change your WordPress theme?

A Personal Blog

If you are running a personal blog where most of the visitors that comes to your blog and engaged in the conversation are the people you know, then it should not be a problem to change it frequently.

Frequently here means, maybe once a year. Maybe a change to reflect your new year resolutions or something. Please don’t do it daily or monthly. People may not like it and stop visiting your blog as they will get annoyed.

I know I will.

If you are the person that prefer to change your theme as your mood change, use a WordPress theme that allows you to change the background easily. At least the navigation, functionalities and overall layout of your theme is still the same.

A Business Blog

If you have a business blog or you want to build a brand around your personal blog, do not. Please make the change as seldom as possible!

The design of your blog contributes to the brand you are promoting. If you do it frequently, your readers/customers would not be able to adjust to the design that easily. They may loose focus on your brand and you will loose your marketability. If you still want to change it frequently, then … why build a brand?

If you need to, introduced the change gradually and make the announcement before the change so that your loyal readers are aware and not suprised. They might think there’s a take over at your company if it changes suddenly.

I am not saying that you should stick with one design forever, I didn’t. A new design will add freshness to a website, just don’t do it frequently.

Are Good Looks The Only Factor When looking For A Partner?

This can be a confusing question for many people because they come from different backgrounds and mentalities. Some would agree to it, but some may not. It also depends on how you were brought up, which really play an important factor in deciding your views. There are also studies that proved that every person has a DNA code in their body that determines how they are going to choose their partner. However I could not remember where I read it to further elaborate.

But anyway, if you ask around, especially the ladies, I am sure that most would tell you that she is looking for a man that is handsome and good looking. I doubt anyone could deny this.

We are living in the world that define good with good looks. Just look at any advertisement in any magazine. They are feeding our brains with it.

Even though there is absolutely nothing wrong with looking for a partner that has good looks, it is important to understand that it should not be the only factor that you should focus on when you’re looking for someone.

You should understand that a person can look really good from the outside but ugly or empty from the inside. For example, a handsome man could have no character or personality. Even though many women will get attracted to handsome men, they will probably get bored eventually. Individuals who enter relationships based on looks are the ones that are most likely going to breakup because the charm fades away eventually.

This concept can also be applied on women where men are usually attracted to beautiful women even if they don’t have other important features. Remember the dumb blonde jokes? Once the women’s beauty begins diminishing, men will start getting bored and will even begin finding faults that weren’t clear in the beginning.

This is why women should be very careful when they’re entering a relationship to avoid getting heartbroken or cheated on. If you are looking for a partner with good looks, then you might get that only.

What should you look for?

There are many other factors and when looking for a partner for life, you should look for someone that is intelligent, faithful, compassionate, communicative, and caring … plus the curves and big boobs … ha..ha..ha

One of the most important thing in every relationship is the person’s character. A person’s character is the only thing that can’t be hidden no matter what. You should never forget to take personality into consideration even if you are searching for a beautiful man or women. If the person you are with doesn’t have any tolerance, this is a sign that you relationship won’t last for a long time.

Compatibility is an essential factor that should be found in any type of relationship. This will ensure that you will be able to connect properly with your loved one and solve any arising problem. It is essential that you’re both physically and emotionally compatible.

Mutual respect is also very important because this will ensure that you will both be able to share anything openly. This will prevent any problems from ruining your relationship.

Many women look for a man that is funny and will make her laugh. This quality is important because a funny man will be able to get you through most rough situations easily and smoothly. Be careful not to get hooked with a joker though, as he might not take anything seriously.

What ever critera you are looking for, don’t based on good looks alone. You should also never look for factors based on someone else’s relationship. Every single individual is different. Someone who is funny might be suitable for you but could be irritating for someone else. This is why you should be very careful and also open when you’re choosing a partner.

Courtship is extremely important if you are looking to extend the relationship till marriage. Take your time and enjoy life.

I have been using WhiteBeans since 2008, but starting 1st April 2012, Blog.Azwan has changed to a new wordpress theme.

There’s nothing wrong with WhiteBeans. It has everything I need – At that time. However, it has not been upgraded in line with WordPress upgrade. Bat InfoMalaya has stop making any changes to it since 2009. I can’t use any new WordPress functionalities unless I make the modification myself or use plugins.

Now that, I have been actively updating this blog, I needed the change.

SimpleReader – My new Wordrpress theme!

Hence, comes in SimpleReader. I decided to use SimpleReader from Colorlabs since I am already very familiar with their framework. I also have other blogs that are using their themes.

SimpleReader meets my requirement for Blog.Azwan. The theme options panel in the WordPress dashboard is easy to use and it’s integrated with a comprehensive SEO management system. Previously I am using the All In One SEO plugin and I don’t see any differences after making the change. Although it comes with a SEO management system, but it will auto disable itself it you want to stick to your current SEO plugin.

SimpleReader is a responsive wordpress theme. It simply means that, it will auto adjust itself regardless whether you are viewing it using your notebook, tablet or smartphone. It will automatically adjust the look and feel without the need for you to use your fingers to enlarge or reduce the view.

Plus … with SimpleReader, I managed to remove about 15 plugins. I hope Blog.Azwan will load faster than before.

And I like the abundance of whitespace. I can make my readers focus to the content much better.

So far the themes I am using from Colorlabs are simple the use, and the support is superb. Not as fast as the support from my hosting provider, Serverfreak, but most of my questions are answered within a day or two.
