What Can You Do With Your Adsense Money?

I know some people who would spent it on virtual porn. I hope you are not one of them … hah …

Anyway, a quick update on what’s happening in my world. If you are familiar with Adsense, then the first week of the month is always the best. This is the time when Google send you the Western Union’s Money Transfer Control Number I am not going to tell you how much I make as my wife will be reading this, but just some of the things I did with my Adsense money.

Call of Duty: Black Ops – December 2010 Adsense
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions – December 2010 Adsense

Up till today, I have yet to complete Dead Space 2. Completed the single player for the rest.

Life’s good when you have extra money, right? What about you? How do you spend the extra money? While you are thinking, I think I will continue with Dead Space 2 single player tonight while PlayStation Network is still down

Life’s Good When You Have Extra Money, but you are not getting any with Mangga Ads Last year, I posted about Mangga Ads where they claimed that they have higher payout rates. At the time I wrote the post on Mangga Ads, I wrote that:

Higher payout rates – This is not proven yet. So far I have never read any blogger got paid yet, but since they are very new, have to wait a while.

Now, it is proven. I am not making any money with Mangga Ads. I have cashed out a few times with Nuffnang, but with Mangga Ads, only RM8.88 for the past 9 months. It’s a waste of advertising space. I think, I can make more by utilizing that space with Adsense.

Has anyone made any money with Mangga Ads?

Sponsored Reviews Rates Increases. Meaning: You get a lower cut.

The first time I blog about Sponsored Reviews in 2009, the rate was at 65%. Which means, for every dollar you make 35 cents is Sponsored Reviews portion.

Now the rate is 50%

In order to continue expanding our marketing, sales, customer service and programming efforts and to recoup other expenses related to increased costs we have decided that it is time to increase our transaction rate by 15% from 35% to 50% (your share will now be 50% versus 65%). This increase will allow us to continue expanding our software functionality as well as grow our marketing and sales efforts in order to increase the number of opportunities available to bloggers. As it stands we currently incentize advertisers to make bulk purchases by giving them up to 20% discounts. At the end of the day these incentives account for a large portion of the opportunities that are created in the system. Unfortunately those incentives also reduce our profit margin and make it tough to expand functionality and keep up with sales and marketing initiatives. We will continue to provide large incentives to bulk buying advertisers in order to encourage volume

The increase will take effect on January 13th, 2010. This increase will not affect previously made bids, your previous bids will continue to pay 65%.

If necessary, please make any required adjustments to your blog prices and new bids in order to compensate for the increased transaction fees. We thank you for your continued participation in our system and assure you that this increase will, over time, have a large effect on the number of paying opportunities available to all bloggers.

I am still getting opportunities from then, this is 3 days ago …

… just that I will be getting a bit lesser. It is now $10, instead of $13. But this doesn’t mean I am going to stop making money online. There are many ways to do it and if you are interested, you can try Sponsored Reviews.

Google Pagerank: My Ego Got Busted

Who are we without ego, and what’s a blog without a Page Rank.

Rohaizad from Rohaizad.com said in his blog today that, Page Rank (PR) is like a blog’s EGO. I do find there are some truth to it, especially if
1. You sell links from your blog and your PR determines the rate.
2. You do reviews on your blog and your PR determines the rate.
3. You want to have an authority blog on a certain niche. PR is not necessarily a factor, but a high PR does give you bragging rights

That’s why I said my ego got busted. Although azwan.my has an increase in Page Rank, now it is PR 3, but I got two other blogs which are making money from link selling, drop a point each .. hu .. hu.

I think the last PR update was more than 6 months ago, and some of you might have thought that Google has given up on Page Rank. Well, Google did not and it is still updating, but from the looks of it, the frequency will not be as often as it used to.

How was your PR update, did you see any differences?
