2.7 Upgrade

If you have a WordPress Blog and have not heard about WordPress 2.7 “Coltrane” yet, then something must be wrong with you :) hah!

I have started the process to upgrade all my blogs. Completed one last night. I started with the one that uses the simplest theme and with the lowest number of plugins. I only have one reason – If anything goes wrong, it will be easier to fix. Luckily everything went smooth and the side is back online in 15 minutes.

How To Upgrade WordPress to Version 2.7?

If you are weak technically and prefer to upgrade quickly and smoothly, use the WordPress Automatic Upgrade Plugin. Just start the process and follow it step by step. Backup is important, don’t skip that part during the WAUP process. It’s included, so don’t worry.

Other than the UI that looks totally different, I noticed 2 things which I like when I edited a post after upgrade. The option to choose tags from the most popular tags like below, where you can just click on the tag you want to use.

Then, I also notice that, the discussion are now displayed when you edit an old post. You can do all sort of things there.

One thing that I am really happy with 2.7 is that they have incorporated the auto upgrade function into it :

    woohooo!! thanks for the plugin share..i didnt know there was such a plugin..haha..

    i thought of waiting for the update to be available in cpanel since i’m not so good with the tech things..but i made it! with the plugin of course..

    my wp is updated! hehe..

    The wordpress upgrade plugin is a miracle. u should consider using it. but again, even when u r very familiar with wordpress, dont forget to backup

    If you see the video at the link i provided above, the link for an auto update should be there when the new version is out. I guess we hv to wait for it :)

    my favorite plugin still aio seo pack, wp comment remix and autohyperlink.. makes job easier..

    2.7 dah upgrade dan paling suka boleh surf dan install yang mana dapat access plugin page dari admin saja..
